Halil Ibrahim Yuksel

Halil Ibrahim Yuksel was born in Kayseri, in the year 1971. He finished primary and high school in Kayseri. In 1995, he graduated from Ege University State Conservatory of Turkish Traditional Music, Department of Traditional Turkish Music Fundamentals. He completed his master's degree in Folklore at the Ege University Institute of Social Sciences in 2002. He taught Turkish Music Theory and Tanbur in the Department of Musicology at the Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts for three years between the 2012-2015 academic years. Yüksel, who has been the General Art Director of the Ege University Classical Turkish Music Choir since 1993 and of the Ege University State Turkish Music Conservatory Classical Turkish Music Choir and Instrumental Works Ensemble since 1996, has prepared and conducted around 250 concert programs in Turkey and many countries with the aforementioned ensembles and the ensembles he has undertaken as artistic director in various cities. Yüksel, who continues to work with the instruments Tanbûr, Lavta and Ûd, gives individual performances at festivals, art days and special events both in Turkey and abroad, and continues to give concerts with various music ensembles. Yüksel, who started working as a lecturer at the Voice Training Department of the State Turkish Music Conservatory of the Republic of Turkey, Ege University, where he graduated in 1996, currently continues to teach courses in Instrument Training (Tanbur), Ensemble Practice, Choir, Turkish Music Art, and Applied Maqam Analysis in Turkish Music.
